The George W. Bush Memorial Library

This is too hilarious to miss!

falconieri:

azspot:

The George W Bush Presidential Library is now in the planning stages. The Library will include:

The Hurricane Katrina Room, which is still under construction.

The Alberto Gonzales Room, where you won’t be able to remember anything.

The Texas Air National Guard Room, where you don’t even have to show up.

The Walter Reed Hospital Room, where they don’t let you in.

The Guantanamo Bay Room, where they don’t let you out.

The Weapons of Mass Destruction Room, which no one has been able to find.

The National Debt room which is huge and has no ceiling.

The ‘Tax Cut’ Room with entry only to the wealthy.

The ‘Economy Room’ which is in the toilet.

The Iraq War Room. After you complete your first tour, they make you go back for a second, third, fourth, and sometimes fifth tour.

The Dick Cheney Room, in the famous undisclosed location, complete with shotgun gallery.

The Environmental Conservation Room, still empty.

The Supremes Gift Shop, where you can buy an election.

The Airport Men’s Room, where you can meet some of your favorite Republican Senators.

The ‘Decider Room’ complete with dart board, magic 8-ball, Ouija board, dice, coins, and straws.

The museum will have an electron microscope to help you locate the President’s accomplishments.

Admission: Republicans - free; Democrats - $1000 or 3 Euros

I particularly like the Economy Room which is in the toilet.

And you forgot the Reading Room, where you don’t have to actually read anything - news is brought to you by your cronies friends.

Hydrogen Refuel Stations Finally Coming?

Is hydrogen fuel finally here? Well, scientists have developed Hydrogen refuel station. Wasn’t it just recently that we were wondering if H-powered cars would come first or the fuel stations? Here are the H2 fuel stations.

Hydrogen Power

BBC reports small, refrigerator-sized H2 refuel stations.

A hydrogen refuelling station which could be installed in the home as an alternative to visiting a petrol station has been unveiled.

Users will need a hydrogen-powered car to go with it although the system can also be used for heating and cooking.

Hydrogen has long been touted as an alternative energy source to carbon-hungry fossil fuels.

One of the biggest obstacles to wider adoption of fuel-cell vehicles is the lack of hydrogen fuelling stations.

To be used as a fuel, hydrogen must first be produced using another energy source.

While some scientists are hopeful of the fuel uses of hydrogen, many others are sceptical because it is inefficient to produce, expensive to transport and to convert into electricity.

A home refuelling station could provide much needed infrastructure to kick-start a hydrogen-based economy, thinks Sheffield-based ITM Power, the firm behind the system.

Death by Overwork at Toyota Plant -

In the two months leading up to his death, the man averaged more than 80 hours of overtime per month, his wife’s lawyers said.

Workers in Japan often put in very long hours and “sudden death from overwork” is referred to as karoshi.

There is work, and then there is work. Some of it causes death. The Japanese even have a word for “death by overwork”! Wow.

Color me cynical, but I never want to work so much that I die from it. [Condolences to the man’s family]

I'm Training To Ruin A Marathon -

pica:

“Now, I know what you’re thinking. Sure, everyone would like to ruin a marathon, but who among us has the discipline and energy to get up at the crack of dawn morning after morning, through rain, sleet, and snow, and practice handing out cups of vinegar to the frontrunners?

“Also—and I can’t stress this enough—it’s very important to stretch properly before and after yelling derogatory remarks at Kenyans. You don’t want your legs cramping up on the way to the escape route.”

OMFG, this is so hilarious!!

I’ve already ru(i)ned one marathon. My right leg muscles just cramped up half way through. I still managed to finish ruin the race though.

Next time, I’ll try handing vinegar to the contestants. ;-)

221 B Baker Street -Sherlock Holmes’ address
Lovely illustration from Tokyo based artist Russell Baker. True Holmes afficionados will appreciate the details in the illustration.
You know you are a true fan when you visit Baker street, see the likeness of Holmes there and search for his house. Sadly, it’s a fictitious address. Oh well, the stories are plenty rich.

Report: Women Increasingly Choosing Dead-End Careers Over Dead-End Relationships | The Onion -

pica:

Ahahaha. It’s funny ‘cause it’s true!

“COLLEGE PARK, MD—According to a report published Monday in The Journal Of Gender Studies, many American women are bucking centuries of traditional gender roles by placing stunted, emotionally unfulfilling relationships on hold in order to pursue mind-numbing careers devoid of any upward mobility.

“The study, which surveyed a cross-section of 477 female recent college graduates, found that young women were 23 percent more likely than any previous generation to seek dissatisfaction in the professional world rather than in empty romantic partnerships. Dr. Gillian Detweiller, a professor of women’s studies at the University of Maryland and coauthor of the report, said that the data suggests a cultural sea change in how women choose to experience lifelong disappointment.”

Ha Ha. The Onion is always so funny!

Atleast women aren’t seeking dead-end science/ engineering careers.

Anger at "Slutty" Starbucks logo

From BBC:

US coffee chain Starbucks has come under fire for a new logo that critics say is offensive and overly graphic.

The Resistance, a US-based Christian group, has called for a national boycott of the coffee-selling giant.

It says the chain’s new logo has a naked woman on it with her legs “spread like a prostitute… The company might as well call themselves Slutbucks”.

Wonder which century these holier-than-thou protesters are living in? 12th?

They would have more effect getting people to boycott Starbucks if they just said coffee and service sucks rather than having to come up with old, conservative notions.
